Many a time I heard people saying that a good foundation is very much essential to build a strong building. But I was unaware that this is very much similar with our lives.
Like to build a tall and strong and building, we need to focus more on it's foundation. To use good quality materials and to design according to the architecture so that there will not be any risk of falling or damaging. But in case if we neglect all this, at the end the consequences will be very worse as we can imagine.
And I realised this that even my foundation is also not so strong as of like others. I was sitting on the stage for a dabate competition in my newly joined higher secondary. The school was very big with a huge number of students and teachers. I was carefully listening to what the Moderator was saying. It was all about the norms and formats of the debate. Meanwhile I noticed that my opponents and even my team mates were not focusing much on the Moderator because they knows everything about the formats and norms. They were all engaged in preparing the questions for the arguments.
From their expressions, I feels that I am the only one who is nervous because they were all chilled. And because of nervousness, I could not able to perform like how I prepared whereas, all of them they performed well.
And as the result announced, medals and certificates were given for the best speech delivered, best answering, best questioner and for the best debater. I along with some other guys didn't received any of these, but I was not upset for not winning the game, the reason for being upset was that I didn't gave my 100%.
After I came back from school, I was thinking that why I couldn't gave my best. Even those didn't won anything was satisfied because they gave their best and they happily accepted the failure.
After a lot of thinking, I came to know that those who won have completed their high school education from a very reputed schools where they have experienced all these even before and have the courage to face the huge crowd. Incase for me I completed my high school from a school where such activities were not organized much and the numbers of students where very limited.
But it's not that I will lose everytime and cannot compete them. Even higher secondary is also a place where we can work to make our foundation strong. But the only thing is that I'll need to work more harder than them.
